Why I feel my voice is critical in my business?
My voice is the heart of my business. I am a one-woman show running a business full time. If my business does not reflect me, my values, my ethics, my style, my expertise, aka - my voice – than this business fails. Maybe not literally fails, but fails me! I will not feel good showing up, being present and doing the things, if I feel like an imposter. I have been molding my business around those people, clients and the commonly expected standards but I have done this with my heart on my sleeve! I want to expand upon the expected and the norm and mold and use the things that make sense for me or in a way that shares my heart, allowing me to talk out loud and partner with you, my client. If I cannot do this, it creates conflict within me. Conflict will stifle me and my voice. And then I will feel like I am just showing up to get paid. I never want to do that.
How has it affected me when my voice was not part of my business?
As part of this business development, I spent many, many years working independently with CPA firms doing the things they needed to be done while simultaneously building my own thing “on the side”. The great part of this was the guaranteed work and paycheck. The bad thing? Not enough time! Not enough me! Guilt over saying no. Guilt over working 24/7 . . . especially during Tax Season!
When you realize a relationship has run its course and you feel that growth is not possible if you stay, please, please listen to this voice! Do not put it off. Do not delay. Do not make yourself small to allow someone else to grow at your stagnancy.
What am I excited to share about my brand and my business?
I am excited to share that over the past 3-5 years I have taken a deep dive into my heart, style, expertise and desired results of what I am building in my business. I have worked with some very talented people who have helped me to evolve into this space, growing my business through the deep desire to partner with my clients. I can take the scary parts off of the table and get them done more quickly, accurately and with much less angst! Even if you think people are not going to embrace the thing that makes you unique and sets you apart! Show up in this skin! Tell the people you think you need to share with and those who get it will show up in return. AND they will share you with all the people they know and sell you because you showed up as YOU!
